Couple charged after throwing smoke bombs at Knowles protest pleads guilty

The couple that threw smoke bombs during the Michael Knowles vs. Brad Polumbo debate on April 18th have pleaded guilty to charges of obstructing law enforcement and conspiracy during civil disorder.

Hate crime/assault reported in area of Semple and Ward

At 11:30 a.m. on Friday, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation, assisted by the Pitt Police, received a report of a “hate crime/assault” that occurred in the area of Semple and Ward St at 2 a.m.

Group of Jewish students attacked at Cathedral of Learning Friday evening, Hillel JUC responds

At around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, the University confirmed that a group of Jewish students “were attacked by an individual wielding a bottle” near the Cathedral of Learning at around 6 p.m. Friday evening. The statement clarified that two of the students were treated for injuries at the scene and that the alleged perpetrator, who has “no known Pitt affiliation,” is in Pitt Police’s custody.
