Pitt officials said 56 students and 22 faculty and staff members tested positive for COVID-19 over the course of a 10-day period from Aug. 27 through Sept. 7. The report also said 89% of undergraduate students has uploaded proof of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Pitt’s Faculty Assembly met Wednesday to discuss the details of Pitt’s vaccine requirements and how the University would continue to keep all campuses safe from COVID-19.

Pitt sees 10% increase in COVID-19 vaccine card submissions

Pitt officials said Thursday that more than three-quarters of all Pittsburgh campus undergraduate students have uploaded proof of vaccination against COVID-19, according to an email sent by the COVID-19 Medical Response Office.
Though Chancellor Patrick Gallagher did not announce a vaccine “mandate” in a letter addressed to Pitt community members on July 23, he said Pitt is “not neutral” towards receiving the vaccine.

Pitt said in a Thursday email that as of next Monday, current COVID-19 Standards and Guidelines will be “revised and simplified.”
According to the two latest updates from the COVID-19 Medical Response Office, Pitt recorded a combined 97 new student cases between March 30 and April 5, a significant increase in the virus’ prevalence on campus this semester.
